South-African born Dee McLachlan is a film director, screenwriter, journalist and humanitarian. She has made documentaries, television series and nine feature films. She is probably most known for her Melbourne-based thriller on sex-trafficking, THE JAMMED.
She has worked and lived in many parts of the globe - Africa, California, Sri Lanka, the UK and now Australia. She has extensive experience in screenwriting, has written a series of children’s books and founded the news site, Gumshoe News, in 2013.
For the last seven years she has been actively involved in challenging child protection systems in Australia and trying to rescue children from state guardianship. She has made a series of videos on the topic and two years ago penned the book The Child Protection Racket.
